Two Valentine’s Date Night Wig Hairstyles
You don’t have to save these two hairstyle ideas for Valentine’s Day. At Daniel Alain, we believe every day is a good day to style your Follea human hair wig.
We asked our expert hair loss consultant and wig stylist, Kathryn, to share two looks that are simple to achieve with a human hair wig, so you can feel extra special any night of the year.
Tools you need to style your human hair wig
To create these looks, Kathryn recommends styling them on a mannequin head. That way, “you have a 360° view of your wig and you avoid having to reach behind you and do it blindly. Being able to take your hair off for styling is a huge benefit of wigs!”
She also finishes these looks with some soft curls, so a curling wand will be helpful. “Don’t forget the heat protectant before any heat styling. It’ll keep your hair in top condition for longer,” Kathryn urges.
To create these looks, Kathryn used small, clear hair elastics, which are inexpensive and easy to get hold of.
Half up, half down twisted ponytail

Step 1
To create this look, brush through the hair to remove any tangles. Next, create one small, loose ponytail with hair from the top of your head. “Pull some face framing pieces forward and leave them loose,” says Kathryn, “that way you’ll have some hair to soften the hairline around your face.”
Step 2
Then create a second ponytail using hair from the sides of the first ponytail. Tie the hair elastic a little higher than the first ponytail you created. The second ponytail should lay over the top of the first. “Keep the ponytails loose to avoid tangling and to give you room to complete the next steps,” Kathryn advises.

Step 3
Now turn the top ponytail (the second one you created) over to create a twist. Keep the two sides separate and make a hole between the two sides. “This is why it’s easier to create these looks while the wig is on a mannequin head. You’ll be able to see what you’re doing!” says Kathryn.

Step 4
Next pass the bottom ponytail (the first one you created) through the hole in the twist. You’re nearly finished!

Step 5
Pull the two ponytails tight against the hair elastics.

Step 6
To finish, smooth down any loose stray hairs and adjust the twist so it’s in the center.
“This is a simple updo with a big impact! Don’t be afraid to practice it a few times if you don’t get it right the first time,” Kathryn says reassuringly.
Twisted Side Ponytail

Step 1
To create this sweet moment, first create a side part, then pull some hair to the side and tie with a hair elastic. “I especially love this look when the rest of the hair has been loosely curled. It give the whole look a bit of Hollywood glam!” Kathryn says.
Step 2
Next divide the hair above the hair elastic in two and create an opening between the two sides. Pass the end of the ponytail through the opening to create a twist.

Step 3
Pull the hair tight below the hair elastic to finish the twisted side ponytail look.
